IN TOKYO
"TOKYO PAPERS"
The exhibition of world-renowned Dutch graphic designer Karel Martens in Tokyo for the first time in almost 10 years "TOKYO PAPERS" produced from 2019 to 2020 and "URANUS" produced in 2022 at the gallery "KARIMOKU COMMONS TOKYO" in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo.

We planned and managed Karel Martens' first exhibition in Japan in 10 years. We were in charge of all processes related to the exhibition, including the theme of the exhibition, selection of the location, spatial design, consideration and creation of statements, design of printed materials such as posters and direct mail, and management of SNS.
The exhibition was held at "Karimoku Commons Tokyo," a gallery of the wood furniture brand. We linked the theme of "wood" to the spatial design and created a space where visitors could walk through a forest of artworks suspended at various heights, passing between the trees.
Along with the gallery, a store selling works by KAREL MARTENS and his family's design project, MARTENS MARTNS, was also added. The store design was created in collaboration with Karimoku furniture.
